EVERSLEIGH WOODLAND LODGES

LOCAL AREA

Whatever your preferences or tastes, there will be something of interest in the local area or within easy reach via the motorway network or rail network. Here is just a sample of what the area has to offer, it is by no means an exhaustive list.

Shopping

Ashford has two major shopping malls, the Designer Outlet (pictured), and the indoor mall in the town centre. Both offer plenty of parking and are only about 5 minutes away. Of course there is also shopping in the heart of London - a short train journey away.

Castles, Churches and Buildings

Leeds Castle and Bodium Castle (pictured) are both only a short distance away and Dover Castle is at the coastal end of the M20. These are just three of the many castles in Kent. Amongst the many churches to visit is Canterbury Cathedral as well as the local 13th century church in Shadoxhurst, and for those interested in more recent history, Chartwell, the home of Winston Churchill is situated at Westerham.

Eating Out

There are many eateries in the local area including many pubs that cater for families and restaurants that cater for all tastes. The local village pub, The King’s Head (pictured), has been the winner of ‘Pub Food of the Year’ award in recent years. They provide excellent food both lunchtimes and evenings.

Beaches and coastal walks

Kent has many beaches, from sandy beaches like Joss Bay in Broadstairs to gravel beaches and working beaches such as Whitstable. One of the most famous landmarks is the White Cliffs of Dover (pictured) that offers a wonderful walk along the cliff top.

Animal Parks

Port Lympne and Howlett’s Animal Parks were set up by the late John Aspinall and offer a more traditional day out, spend a day with all the wild animals at Kent’s premier zoos.

As mentioned earlier, this is by no means an exhaustive list and Kent has so much to offer. So why not give us a call or email us to book your holiday now.
